These tips may help you decide what is best for your situation.

If you have a LIFE THREATENING CONDITION, call 911 immediately, or go to the nearest emergency room for treatment if you experience:

Abdominal pain that causes you to double over and does not stop

Bleeding and it can’t be stopped

Chest pain or difficulty breathing

A chronic condition that has changed, and the normal procedures you know to do at home are not helping

Difficulty talking or sudden weakness

Major burns

A serious injury or illness and you feel you may die if you don’t receive help immediately

Severe pain not relieved by medication

Someone has passed out and cannot be awakened or has fallen and cannot get up

An urgent care condition is when you have a change in your normal health condition and need to see a doctor for care in the next 24 hours or the situation could get worse and become an emergent condition.  Symptoms of an urgent care condition may include:

Broken bones or fracture

Earaches or sore throat

High fever

Skin infection, minor cuts or rashes

Shortness of breath due to asthma or emphysema

Stomach pain or vomiting over 24 hours

If you believe you have an urgent condition, call your PCP first to see what kind of care is needed.  If your doctor feels you need more care than can be provided at the office, you will be directed to go to the emergency room.

The urgent care centers listed below are intended to provide Arta members access to urgent, non-emergency health care services after 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and on weekends or holidays.  Please advise your primary care physician’s office staff when you have obtained health care services at one of the listed urgent care centers to ensure that any necessary follow-up care is appropriately arranged.
