EFFECTIVE APRIL 2009

Medicare and Medicaid require any and all medications administered to be billed with the
National Drug Code, or NDC number.  Claims for medications must include the following: 

National Drug Coder (NDC) and NDC quantity HCPCS Code and HCPCS quantity

Arta is mandated to follow this regulation.  Effective 11/01/2009, all claims containing medication codes must be billed appropriately.  Any claims for medications that does not include the valid NDC number, NDC quantity, valid HCPCS code and HCPCS quantity will be denied for a corrected billing.Please click on the link below for the regulations from Medicaid which details proper completion of the claim form and all required data elements.
